A Poem by Martin Willitts, Jr.

Men Caught Staring At Trouble

Trouble came towards the glancing men,
not certain if she was a still ripening girl
or revenge of too-much-women for most men.

Her breasts traveled at bipolar speeds.
You could hear the men’s steamed breaths
over jackhammers and sirens.

Trouble always smiles
before it is too late, with danger sign eyes.
Men do not know when to quit.

Temptation is a border-line- age woman
showing too much of herself.
Men that should know better, don’t.

Foolishness looks
at what it should not,
and looks twice too long.
