on the backside of maybe

the back taxes
I owe
are collected in

the surf side
of the
moonless tide

still

we hold hands

my lover
showing me
once was

lottery tickets
folded in
the shape
of golden bands


David LaBounty has held jobs as a miner, a mechanic, a reporter, and a salesman. He is the author of the novel Affluenza and the recent poetry collected titled moon chalk. He lives in Michigan.
