A Poem by William G. Davies, Jr.

The Staff

The sun rises
on the Hershey Hotel
as the workers
in dark uniforms
fresh as coffee
pace ahead of
their flowery shadows
to a castle
similar to one
built on a beach,
the Terracotta roof
becomes pieces of clam shell
in the hands of a dreamer.
